ATRO was founded in 1987 by accomplished engineer, George Sturmon, after he realized that truck torque rods were a quality problem because the rubber bushings were failing. George knew he could create a better solution and did just that — creating parts that can withstand the rigors of the heavy-duty trucking industry. ATRO has, therefore, become synonymous with “heavy duty.”

This first product was to replace rubber with a custom blend of polyurethane to make torque rod bushings that perform better and last longer. Now, ATRO is a team of more than 100 workers and has grown from a handful of products to more than 1,000.

Each product is custom-designed by our team of engineers depending on the specific purpose that the part services, including load-bearing, dampening, transmission, shock absorption, or stabilization.

While other companies use a single blend of polyurethane to make all of their heavy-duty truck parts, ATRO recognized that different parts do different work, meaning they will be exposed to changes in stress, strain, and the environment. ATRO has designed and developed a custom polyurethane blend to solve this problem and get the job done right, resulting in industry-leading products that deliver precision, performance, and productivity.
