Baldwin Filters was formed by J.A. Baldwin way back in 1936 when he designed a better lube filter to improve mobile filtration. Production began in Wisconsin but moved to Nebraska in 1953. The company was purchased by J.L. Clark Manufacturing Company in 1981 and continued its steady growth, adding facilities in Europe, Mexico, Australia, China, South Africa, and Morocco.

Further growth continued in 1995 when Baldwin Filters purchased Hastings Premium Filters, including the addition of a third U.S. manufacturing site. This also branched the company out into the lucrative automotive filtration market. In 2017, Baldwin Filters (and parent company, Clarcor) became part of the Parker Hannifin Corporation Filtration Group, firmly placing it among the top filtration companies in the world.

Baldwin’s team of engineers uses the latest technology to create innovative, patented designs like EnduraPanel™ air filters, self-venting drain valves for fuel/water separators, and filters utilizing HELM™ (Highly Engineered Layered Media).
